53 weeks, 53 songs, 53 videos – starting on the 1st of January 2020. Brendan Adams, singer-songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa, will compose and record 53 original tracks and then hand them over to random creative individuals who will interpret his music into video content.
Anyone can take part in this creative venture. And the best part? There are zero limitations. Whoever becomes a part of BADAMS 53 has absolute creative freedom. The only thing to remember is a deadline.
The concept behind the project was born from the desire to try something new; something unusual that defies today’s traditional music industry. This is how BADAMS 53 came to life – a format that brings music to people in a way that allows them to become a part of it. Perfection is never the goal. The project aims to create something unique and to bring people from various walks of life together through creative expression. While Brendon focuses his talents on creating the music, he will leave the video-making in the more capable hands of an online creative community.
The plan is to kick-off on the first day of the new year. For each week in 2020, an original track will be released by BADAMS 53. We have no idea where this project will take us or what the outcome will be, and that’s what makes the journey all the more exciting. With Brendan’s vocals leading the way, and his music strumming at the heart of it all, the hope is to use his voice as a guide that steers this creative journey.

Klar, denn Brendan Adams holt sich kreativen (Video-)Support!
53 Kalenderwochen, 53 Songs, 53 Videos – die Idee ist eigentlich recht simpel. Der gebürtig aus Kapstadt stammende Singersongwriter Brendan Adams schreibt die Songs, nimmt sie mit anderen Musikern gemeinsam auf und verteilt dann die fertigen Musikstücke an Menschen, die Lust haben, ein Video dazu zu machen. Mitmachen kann jeder und es arbeitet auch jeder so, wie er das möchte. Erlaubt ist alles. Wer bei BADAMS 53 mitmacht, hat zumindest für diesen kleinen Teil seines Lebens Narrenfreiheit. Ein Abgabetermin ist das wirklich Einzige, an das es sich zu halten gilt.
Das Konzept hinter der Idee ist ein Vielschichtiges. Entstanden ist es in dem Wunsch, der klassischen Musikbranche ein wenig zu trotzen und etwas Neues zu versuchen. Etwas, das Perfektion nicht zum Ziel hat, sondern das versucht, Menschen aus den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen zusammenzubringen. Ein Format, in dem Brendan sich als Musiker darauf beschränkt, was er gut kann, Musik schreiben und spielen nämlich. Und bei dem alles andere an Menschen abgegeben wird, die andere Dinge besser können. Musikvideos machen zum Beispiel.
Ziel ist es, ab dem 01.01.2020 jede Woche einen neuen Song zu präsentieren, gemeinsam mit dem Videomaterial, das von der jeweiligen Person zurückgekommen ist. 53 Songs & Videos, auf 53 Wochen aufgeteilt, das wollen wir schaffen. Gemeinsam begeben wir uns auf eine Reise, ohne dabei genau zu wissen, wohin es uns führen wird. Die einzige Konstante ist die Musik. Brendans Songs ziehen sich als roter Faden durch das Projekt und verhelfen BADAMS53 dazu, von Anfang bis Ende authentisch und glaubhaft zu bleiben.
